Inspiration and Process
Famous for its video games since 1986, the gothic Castlevania series is set in a world of men versus monsters. Vampire Hunter Trevor Bellmont pits himself against the supreme evil himself, Dracula, and every demon that steps between them.
Utilizing an extended tripod and softbox, the subjects were lit from above with High Speed Sync flash, allowing me to capture the details of the sky with a high shutter speed, as well as light my subjects mid-action.
For floating chain shots, multiple helpers held on to points of the chain, and let go moments before I fire the flash, giving the chain a menacing whip effect.
Photos color graded in Adobe Lightroom, and minor blemishes, skin editing, and flares were added in Photoshop.
